This dog was brought in to a veterinarian as a dog that was used in dog fighting. Since the dog was taken from a dog fighting ring, the dog now had no name and no guardian. The vet did not want to take on the expenses and time of taking care of the dog, so the dog through no fault of his/her own winds up being killed by lethal injection. That simply is not fair. This is an actual case where that happened.
That is a very distressing image. We do not have many pitbulls in the UK, but the staffie is a smaller, similar dog that has been used in illegal dog fights here and they now are the largest population in the charities that take unwanted dogs. This is because of their reputation as of course dog fighting is fortunately not that common, but unwanted staffs are.
